By means of the cloud service, Davinci responds to the request of customers to have a variable costing model (pay per use) as well as the ability to scale-up and have a higher level of performance. Michiel van Loef, manager Davinci Services explains: “It is important for us to be able to deliver this cloud based service to our existing customers and to lower the entry point for new and potential customers. This way we are able to provide this service to a larger group of users and give them access to this high value service. That is part of our strategy”.
Davinci is using the services of AWS for hosting its software services. The choice for AWS is based on several elements which include the variety of available services, like scalability of infrastructure on demand, which ensures a consistent user experience. But also the reliability, security and compliance of the service has been an important factor. AWS infrastructure is certified to compliance standards including ISO 27001, ISO 27018, SOC 1, 2 & 3 as well as PDI DSS Level 1. In the past the Dutch Financial Services Authority, De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB), has also clarified that the requirement for supervision is met by institutions using AWS meaning that Dutch financial organisations, including banks and insurance companies, can move their technology infrastructure to the AWS cloud.
The first Service which is being offered from the Cloud by Davinci is DocStreet. DocStreet makes it possible to automate the acceptance of documents (pay slips and ID documents etc) that are needed for mortgage acceptance, by means of converting a digital scan into structured text. The input is integrated into the platform for mortgage acceptance which currently is being used by a significant share of all mortgage providers in the Netherlands. The integration of DocStreet results in a dramatic reduction of the time needed to process Mortgage requests. One satisfied customer which is currently consuming the DocStreet software as a service is Dutch financial services company Skydoo.
